Course Description

Endodontic therapy depends on diagnostic radiographs and image-guided treatment. Periapical and panoramic radiography have been augmented by the use of high-resolution CBCT, allowing three-dimensional assessment of odontogenic and non-odontogenic lesions, canal morphology, root and alveolar fractures, resorptive lesions, outcomes assessment and anatomy prior to surgery. This course will highlight the advantages of CBCT imaging in light of recent research demonstrating a significant increase in lesion visualization when compared to periapical radiographs. Particular emphasis will be placed on interpretation and documentation skills along with explaining a systematic approach to radiographic assessments.

Educational objectives:

1. Identify Structural Fractures and Anomalies, such as vertical root fractures, complex anatomy and resorptive defects.
2. Describe limited field high-resolution CBCT imaging and how to systematically interpret CBCT datasets.
3. Understand artifacts, metal artifact reduction algorythms (MAR), noise reduction and common interpretation errors.
4. Learn how to report on cross-sectional images, methods, and conventions.
5. Describe the four radiographic features common to lesions of endodontic origin.

If the course is full when your registration is received, you will be so notified; please do not make transportation or hotel reservations until your registration is confirmed. If the course is rescheduled or cancelled by EndoNet Consulting, LLC, for any reason, applicants will receive a full refund of the course tuition and airline cancellation fees limited to $200, if any, as the applicant’s sole remedy.  We will not be responsible for any other loss incurred by you as a result of the rescheduling or cancellation. There will be no refund for partial attendance.  Hotel cancellation policies apply to your hotel reservations.

Course participants using Zoom will need a laptop or desktop computer that supports audio/video interactions and an Internet connection that supports Zoom. You will receive a Zoom invitation the evening before and again one hour before the lecture begins. Each Course will be preceded by a Practice Session on Thursday evening before the program at 8:00 pm ET. Any service interruptions or difficulty should be reported immediately to the cell number provided in each announcement.

Travel Information
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Dulles International Airport (IAD)  are approximately a 30 minute taxi ride from Bethesda, Maryland, but Reagan National has the added convenience of Metro (subway) service to Bethesda. Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is not recommended because it is located about one-hour away by taxi. The one-way taxi charge is about $100.00.
